CELEBRITY SERIES: ARTS FOR ALL
Rather than a rarified experience limited to a particular class or small group of people, we believe artistic performance should be made accessible to anyone interested, including those who have not yet been exposed to the arts.
The Celebrity Series of Boston’s Arts for All! program moves performance into the community, “bringing the arts to everybody and everybody to the arts.” It sparks interest in art, dance and music, while inspiring a lifelong love for creative expression, particularly in children who may eventually become artists and patrons of the arts themselves.
Dancing in the Streets
Understanding through our own experience the challenge of accessing “elite” spaces and cultural opportunities when economically marginalized, we believe that everyone should have the chance to see all types of live music, enjoy a play or attend a ballet. All should be welcomed into any existing venue and performance spaces — including community arts centers and pop-up gatherings — situated and supported in neighborhoods and schools city-wide.
Our involvement with Celebrity Series is one of our longest. Larry Stifler has been a member for over 50 years and has served on the board since 2016. Our support has since grown, and we’ve provided incentives to interest young students in music and to move arts performances out of symphony halls into smaller venues accessible to a wider audience. The Stifler Family Foundation was an initial supporter of the Arts for All! program.
